Within the past five years, the Arc has filled the role of agent under power of attorney. Additionally, the Arc has been named as a third party guardian through Macomb County Probate Court. Services through this program are based on the concepts of person-centered planning and self-determination, recognizing that much work is done to educate individuals and their chosen families regarding rights and responsibilities along the way.
Specifically, the Arc strives to support individuals in lives of their choice. Intensive time, information, education and support are provided to individuals to help them understand the options that are available and the need to balance freedom, independence, rights and responsibilities. Arc staff is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to meet the needs of individuals served in this program.
