The Arc provides employment training services and independent living classes designed to provide individuals with the tools to achieve their personal & employment goals. Individuals will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on activities throughout their day that include a wide range of activities of daily living, employment skills, educational experiences, and will be customized to support each individual’s personal outcomes.
Our independent living skills classes will help participants achieve their mental and physical potential to live safely and independently. The classes will cover:
- Daily Living Skills – money management, nutrition, time management, self advocacy, communication and interpersonal skills, technology and self-advocacy.
- Employment Skills Training Program – problem solving, teamwork, professionalism and soft skills. After assessing skills and interests through this training, participants will be referred to open a case with Michigan Rehabilitative Services (MRS) to move towards competitive employment.
