Vocational Training

The Arc provides a number of different vocational training services, all of which are designed to provide individuals with the tools necessary to achieve their employment goals.

  • Facility-based Vocational Training services are provided at The Arc’s facility, where individuals are provided opportunities to complete a variety of industrial sub-contract work (such as packaging, collating, assembly, and inspection) for which they are paid a competitive wage while gaining valuable work skills and experience.
  • Habilitative Programs include training designed to enhance an individual’s vocational potential by focusing on areas such as personal hygiene, communication skills, safety concepts, reading and time-telling skills, and work place etiquette.
  • Community-based Vocational Training provides inclusion of individuals at local businesses and industries to supplement an employer’s existing workforce. Individuals benefit by being paid a competitive wage while simultaneously gaining valuable work skills in a community-based setting.
