Special Education Advocacy

Start with Michigan Alliance for Families

At The Arc of Macomb County, we understand how overwhelming the special education process can be. That’s why we’ve partnered with Michigan Alliance for Families (MAF) to ensure families get the support they need, right from the start.

The Arc of Macomb County first requires a referral from Michigan Alliance for Families for support

How It Works

The Arc of Macomb has a contract with Michigan Alliance for Families (MAF) for educational advocacy services. Before our Special Education Advocate can assist, you’ll need to contact MAF.

📞 Call MAF at 800-552-4821

MAF will assess your concerns, offer helpful information, and if they determine a need for further support, they may refer your case to us.

All referrals must go through MAF first in order for us to honor our agreement.

What MAF Can Help You With

Michigan Alliance for Families is a statewide resource that helps families of children with disabilities understand:

  • Special education laws and rights
  • The IEP process
  • Behavior plans
